HUCKNALL’S National Primary School said a sad farewell to their headteacher at the end of term as she prepares for pastures new.

Liz Youngman is pictured being presented with a bouquet of flowers by pupils from years 3 and 6 on her last day at the Montague Road school.

The school’s current deputy head, Helen Handley, will be holding the reins whilst a replacement leader is found.

Mrs Youngman is taking up a new post with the Southwell Diocese as the deputy director of education which will see her work with church schools to help them with all areas of improvement.

“Liz’s experience across two church school headships will be invaluable,” said the director of education, Claire Meese.
