It’s time for people of Ilkeston to put on their dancing shoes as new classes are about to hit the town.
The energetic, ballroom-style dance classes will launch on September 29 and will cost £4 a class.
Strictly Come Dancing dance stars Natalie Lowe and Ian Waite teamed up with world champion swimmer Mark Foster, a former Strictly contestant and an expert in fitness and conditioning, to produce the unique dance and fitness programme, called ‘FitSteps’.
The new idea combines Latin and ballroom dancing with other proven fitness techniques.
FitSteps instructor Amy Godsmark, who has set up the venture for Ilkeston, said the classes are a great way to get fit fast.
“You don’t have to be able to dance and you don’t need a partner,” she said.
“You just have to want to get fit. You’ll lose unwanted pounds and have more fun than you realise doing it.”
The classes, open to everyone, will take place every Monday at The Welcome Hall, St John’s Road, from 6pm to 6.45pm and every Wednesday at Ebenezer Church Hall, Heanor Road, from 10am to 10.45am.
