It was a New Year to remember for two families at King’s Mill Hospital where the first babies of 2016 were welcomed into the world.

At King’s Mill Hospital Sutton couple Chantelle Curtis and Brett Lee Fowler welcomed their son Talon into the world at 12.45am on New Year’s Day, weighting in at 7lb 11oz.

Proud mum Chantelle, 28 of John Street, said: “Talon is lovely and he’s doing really well.”

Tiny Jack Turner was born at King’s Mill at 2.20am to delighted parents Keelie and Dean weighing 7lb 10 oz.

Keelie, 29 said: “We are over the moon - he’s perfect.”

Dad Dean said; “I’m absolutely ecstatic he is a little brother for our daughter Emily - we have one of each now!”

At 9.24pm, at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, Grazyna Wrobel gave birth to her daughter Amelia Samcik, who weighed 7lb 4oz. She is also daughter to Krzysztof Samcik and little sister to Rafal Patryk and Lena. The family lives in Laurel Close, Shirebrook.

Amelia is a little sister to Rafal, Patryk and Lena.
