Planned strike action by firefighters across Nottinghamshire for later today (Saturday 19th October) has been cancelled.
Members of the Fire Brigade’s Union were set to take industrial action between 6.30pm and 11.30pm over a pensions dispute.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service had put contingency plans in place for this five-hour period, but they will no longer be necessary.
The FBU will now continue negotiations with the Government.
Chief Fire Officer Frank Swann said: “We are pleased the industrial action has been called off and hope for a speedy resolution to the dispute between the FBU and the Government.”
