TICKETS have gone on sale for Hucknall’s annual Party In The Park extravaganza, which will be headlined this year by former chart-topper Chesney Hawkes (pictured).
Thousands of spectators are expected to flock to the sports field at the Rolls-Royce Leisure Club, off Watnall Road, on Saturday June 25.
Money raised will again go to the Help For Heroes charity, which supports British servicemen and women who have been injured on the frontline in conflicts around the globe.
The men behind the event are Ben Marshall and Phil Rostance, who will take to the stage themselves as part of Phil Rostance and the Marshall Band.
But the top draw is sure to be blast-from-the-past Hawkes, who shot to fame in the early 1990s with the number-one smash, ‘The One And Only’.
Also confirmed on the bill are the groups Mellow Rebellion, Expos3 and Satnam’s Tash, along with soloists Andy Whittle and Laura Keetley.
Other attractions at what is being labelled an ideal family day out include Gordon Pearson’s funfair, stalls, face-painting and games.
The event, which is into its fourth year, was originally launched in tribute to Lance-Corporal Paul ‘Sandy’ Sandford, of Hucknall, who was killed while serving in Afghanistan. ‘Sandy’ was a school friend of Ben and Phil at Holgate Comprehensive in Hucknall.
The event was switched to Rolls last year from Titchfield Park to allow for bigger crowds. Tickets can be bought at the Rolls club.
