CERTIFICATES and cakes all helped celebrate the efforts of volunteers at Hucknall’s Headway charity shop.

A special day was earmarked to thank all the helpers for their huge year-round efforts to run the High Street shop and raise money for the charity.

“We simply couldn’t run the shop without them,” said store manager Bev Beevers. “I am very proud of my team —we are like one big family. It was a wonderful day and everybody enjoyed it.”

The aim of the event was to recognise publicly the selfless efforts of all Headway’s volunteers and fundraisers who help raise cash for those who have suffered head injuries.

Cakes and refreshments were made for the team to enjoy on the day, with the Hucknall branch of Lloyds TSB bank also donating two large cakes.

Certificates were presented to each volunteer by retail development manager, Jo Finch.
