A PENSIONER from Hucknall has been fined for illegally possessing two air rifles.
Ernest Clements (72), of Brickyard, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court where it was said he didn’t hold a certificate clearing him to own the weapons.
He was fined £700 for illegal possession of a pre-charged pneumatic air rifle and a further £300 for having a Weihrauch HW90 weapon.
Clements was also found guilty of a third charge of haing two rifle cartridges. But he faced no separate punishment for this.
He was also ordered to pay £625 towards costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
The court ordered the guns to be destroyed and any shotgun certificates held by Clements to be cancelled.
