Plea from MP to save black rhinos

Have your say

BULWELL’S Labour MP Graham Allen has called for action to prevent the endangered black rhinoceros from facing extinction.

Mr Allen says rhino-poaching has increased tenfold since the beginning of the decade, with worries focused on South Africa.

Rhino horn is worth up to £22,000 per kilo on the black market, which makes it more valuable than gold or cocaine.

“Losing the black rhino for good would be a disaster, which is why I am campaigning against poaching,” said Mr Allen.
