Pole dancers ‘thrill’ packed Empire

POLE dancers thrilled a full house at Hucknall’s Empire social club and pub — all for a good cause.

Members of the Pole Fitness Ladies from the Nicola Martin Dance Studios took full advantage of the chance to show their super-skills.

Money raised from the event was for Cancer Research UK as part of an initiative by John Wright, of Shortwood Avenue, Hucknall.

Mr Wright and his wife, Shirley, have held various events which have yielded thousands of pounds for the charity.

A squad called Team Chaos is being entered for the annual Relay For Life at Rossendale, Lancashire.

The teams perform a 24-hour relay, running or walking round a track, and it is a way of remembering people who have died from cancer.

John said special thanks were due to the Empire staff and to owner Richard Darrington for providing the venue free of charge.

“The show was such a success that a pole-dancing class for beginners has started at the Empire,” he added.
