Police searching for a man who is wanted in connection with a sexual offence allegation have received more than 50 phone calls since they put out an appeal to find him.
Officers looking for Komar Uddin, 65, who is believed to have connections in the Mansfield and Nottingham areas, are following up several lines of enquiry following calls from members of the public.
Police put out an appeal to find Uddin after he failed to answer police bail in Leicestershire, where the alleged offence took place, in February 2015.
Since the appeal was put out last week, the force has received in excess of 50 calls from people with information about the suspect.
A force spokesman said he is believed to have connections in the Mansfield, Nottingham, Birmingham and London areas.
Detective Constable Julie Gamble, of Leicestershire Police, said: “The response we have had so far from the public has been great and I would urge you to still contact us if you think you may know where he is.
“If you know of his current whereabouts or if you have seen him since February 2015 then we would urge you to get in touch.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 4195 Julie Gamble on 101, quoting incident LEP-050116-0256.
