Newark’s Robin Hood Game and Country Show is taking place next weekend (19th and 20th October) and over 30,000 people are expected to attend.
The event is being held at Newark Showground and will feature a jousting display by Robin Hood and his Merry Men and a spectacular stunt display by the Stampede Stunt Display Team.
They will perform horseback riding, jumping through fire, rearing, roman riding and a special demonstration of horseback archery.
Other attractions include sheepdog handling displays, ferret racing, owl agility and a ‘All About Dogs’ zone, one of the UK’s largest fun dog events.
Family members of all ages can get involved in activities such as archery, air rifle and clay pigeon shooting and there will be entertaining and educational alpaca and sheep shearing displays, shopping opportunities and chances to sample and buy delicious produce, from fine wines to delicious cheeses.
Tickets are priced £10 for adults and £5 for children on the gate, with family tickets also available.
Matt Upson, owner of Aztec Events, which organises the show, said: “Whether you are a serious game enthusiast that enjoys the thrill of the countryside or are simply looking for a great day to spend with the family, our show always delivers a really great weekend jammed-packed with various interactive attractions.
“From gun dog training, medieval re-enactments and clay shooting competitions to have-a-go field archery and funfair games, there’s something for all ages.”
