HUCKNALL’s very own answer to Carol Vorderman is on her way to studying maths at the University of Nottingham after scoring highly in her A-level exams.
Rebecca Simpson (18), who studied at New College Nottingham (ncn) is pictured celebrating her success after scooping one A-grade and three Bs.
“I was really nervous collecting my results because I didn’t feel like I’d done that well in my exams,” said Rebbecca, of Watnall Road.
Rebbecca gained her grades in maths (A), further maths, biology and psychology to secure her university place.
She added: “I’ll be sad to leave ncn because my tutors were really supportive and I made some great friends, but I’m excited about starting university.”
Rebbecca was one of more than 500 ncn students who collected their results from the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham.
Amarjit Basi, ncn principal and chief executive, said: “We are extremely proud of our students, many of whom are progressing to some of the most prestigious universities in the country.
“I look forward to seeing some of them emerge as leaders in our city.”
