THE MANAGING director of East Midlands Trains, which runs the Robin Hood Line in Hucknall, Bulwell and Newstead, plus services from Nottingham to London, is to move on after four years at the controls.

Tim Shoveller will take over as managing director of South West Trains in the New Year.

Both rail networks are owned by the Stagecoach group. But South West Trains is the biggest communter rail franchise in the UK.

During his time at the helm of East Midlands Trains, Mr Shoveller has been instrumental in new, more efficient timetables, pushing forward a £30 million train-refurbishment programme and improving punctuality across all routes, including the Worksop-to-Nottingham Robin Hood line.

He said: “I am very proud of what the team have achieved at East Midlands Trains. Despite many challenges, we have created a good, safe and reliable service that delivers for our customers.”

The new managing director of East Midlands Trains will be DAVID HORNE, who steps up from his position as commercial and customer service director at the franchise.
