A YOUNG singer who grew up in Bulwell is bidding to land a record deal after making it into the regional finals of the Open Mic UK competition.

Rosanna O’Brien (16), pictured, will perform at the NEC in Birmingham on Saturday October 29 in a contest that aims to unearth Britain’s brightest singing talent.

Should she win through to the next stage, she will compete in the final at the O2 Arena in London with the top prize being a breakthrough recording contract.

Rosanna, who is a previous member of Bulwell St Mary’s Guides, has beaten off hundreds of rivals to make it this far — DISPIC NHUD11-2362-1
