SAFETY has been improved for passengers at the car park of Hucknall’s main tram and train station.
A project has been completed to provide new footpaths, lighting and improved landscaping at the station, off Baths Lane.
The scheme has been carried out in a partnership involving Ashfield District Council, Nottingham City Council and Tramlink Nottingham.
It is also designed to provide a more direct link from the tram station into Hucknall town centre and its shops.
The route between Baths Lane and High Street is due to be improved further by Notts County Council.
Coun Chris Baron (Lab), a Hucknall member of Ashfield Council and its lead member for planning, said: “The scheme is part of a comprehensive strategy to encourage sustainable transport and support the regeneration of Hucknall town centre.
“Hopefully, it will encourage more people to use public transport and to visit the town centre.”
