More than 104 couples have tied the knot in a same-sex marriage since it was made legal one year ago, figures have shown.
Of the 104, only 19 have been in the Mansfield and Ashfield area.
This is compared to 48 in Greater Nottingham, and 37 in Bassetlaw and Newark and Sherwood.
Helen Scaman, from the council’s registration service, said: “Same sex marriages have proved very popular in Nottinghamshire and we have been able to convert civil partnerships into marriages since the further change in law in December.
“We love that we can give everyone the same experience.
“It now feels like business as usual – we can’t believe it’s been a year already.”
