CHILDREN who go to Hucknall Pre-School Playgroup, based at Watnall Road Baptist Church, will now be able to form their own band!
For the youngsters have been presented with a full set of percussion instruments, thanks to a generous donation.
The instruments are a gift from a charity set up by Anne and Peter Eldridge, of Ravenshead.
They launched a fund in memory of their son, Kynan (31), who was stabbed to death by a Tunisian immigrant in Mansfield in September 2005, and Kynan's grandfather, Bernard Slee (94), of Hucknall, who died soon after.
The charity is aimed at helping young people raise their potential through music. Kynan was a sound technician and Bernard enjoyed classical music, particularly opera.
Anne and Peter attended a playgroup session to hand over the instruments, accompanied by charity trust members Fiona Wallace and Maureen Cooling and Maureen's nine-month-old daughter, Charlotte.
The charity comes under the auspices of Nottinghamshire Community Foundation, who were represented at the presentation by Dexter Bullock.
