MORE than 500 children from two Hucknall schools joined forces to enjoy an enormous Diamond Jubilee street-party.

Leen Mills Lane was closed off and decorated with bunting and pictures of the Queen as tables were set up to cater for youngsters from the neighbouring Leen Mills Primary and Holy Cross Roman Catholic Primary.

Pupils enjoyed lunch together and wore home-made crowns before singing the National Anthem and ‘Land Of Hope And Glory’.

Speeches were given by Holy Cross head teacher Pat Snowdon and her Leen Mills counterpart, John White.
