A FUN day with the themes of holidays and camping brought memories flooding back for residents of the Annesley Lodge care home in Hucknall.
Staff dressed up in holiday gear and decorated the Annesley Road home with camping equipment for an event packed with activities.
Attractions included trying out tents, both old and new, a test where residents had to guess different foods by smell alone and a barbecue.
A traditional British seaside feast of fish, chips and mushy peas was laid on for lunch, followed by a quiz about British holiday resorts.
Resident Tom Crofts (87) said: “I used to have lovely holidays at Skegness with my family. We had a static caravan and used to go walking and have fish and chips. We also went camping a few times and this brought back treasured memories.”
Fellow resident Zygmunt Rosol (91) added: “I really enjoyed the day, especially seeing the staff dressed in their camping gear.”
