Service was beautiful

Have your say

I just wanted to comment on your humanist service article.

In April this year we lost my father with lung cancer,we are not religious and didn’t want hymns and sad words,we were advised by the funeral director to perhaps look at alternative service by a humanist,we weren’t sure what it entailed but it would be a celebration of the persons life.It was the best decision we made.

The lady called Rose came and explained the service and spoke at length to us as a family, she was lovely and very comforting at the sad time of arranging a service. The service was beautiful we had music in and out the chapel and instead of hymns, the service was a celebration and does help to heal the pain and the loss.

I must also say that everyone who attended the service commented on how lovely it was and they had never been to a service like that before.

It was a very sad time and still is but we know my dad would have loved the service and we gave him a good send off with the help of Rosé,she also gave my mother a copy of the full service in a special binder to keep we made a lovely keepsake.
