Shorten GP waiting times - carer’s call

Carers in Hucknall chairman Jim Radburn is calling for the town’s next MP to fight for shorter GP waiting times.

A four week wait for an appointment at a local surgery prompted him to write to NHS England and get the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman to investigate, but he was told no action would be taken.

NHS England medical director Ken Deacon offered him ‘sincere apologies’ for not providing him with the ‘rules’ about GP access.

Mr Radburn said: “I am pleased to get the written apology but it does not help me in my efforts to get minimum waiting times for people to see their own doctor. I will take it up with the future MP.”
