LACE up your running shoes and get ready to take part in the Active Ashfield family fun run.
The event is at the Ashfield School in Kirkby on Sunday April 16.
Those who take part can walk or run the course, while there is also a wheelchair mile for disabled people.
A warm-up with Ashfield District Council’s healthy-eating mascots, Brocky Broccoli and Peggy Pineapple, will be held before the run gets under way.
Money raised from entry fees will go to the Olympians from Ashfield Support In Sport (OASIS) cause. This charity supports local athletes selected for the Olympics and Paralympics.
Carol Hallam, a sports development coach with Ashfield Council, says: “We are challenging as many people as possible to be part of Active Ashfield 2012.
“The fun run is a great way of having fun while raising money along the way. Everyone who completes the course will receive a medal.”
