Sign up for healthy-food course at leisure centre

IF YOU don’t know your carbohydrates from your calcium and want to know what foods give you more energy without making you put on weight, then why not sign up for a new healthy-eating course at Hucknall Leisure Centre?

This FREE six-week programme is all thanks to a partnership struck up between Ashfield District Council, NHS Nottinghamshire County and Everyone Active.

The programme takes place on Tuesdays, starting on September 4and will help adults learn the skills and knowledge required to eat a balanced, healthy diet without the need for faddy eating.

So if you want to change your eating habits and learn how to make better choices in order to lose weight or simply switch to healthier options, this could be just the course for you.

With so many conflicting messages from different sources it can be confusing knowing what foods to pick up off the supermarket shelves to combine into a healthy meal for the whole family.

Topics to be covered include label reading in supermarkets and explanations and how to understand sugars and calorific values.

There are a limited number of places available, so if you want to take part you need to book in advance.

Don’t miss the chance to make a real difference to your lifestyle.

To reserve your place, contact Samantha Louise Evans, community nutrition advisor on 01623 457379 or by emailing s.l.evans@ashfield-dc.gov.uk.
