Singer Zenani makes O2 final

A TALENTED young singer with ties to Hucknall is through to the final of a prestigious national competition.

Thirteen-year-old Zenani Thomas, who went to the Holy Cross Roman Catholic School in the town, is gunning for glory in the Open Mic UK contest. She has qualified for the final at the O2 Arena in London on Saturday January 21.

The teenager, who lives in Redhill and goes to Nottingham Bluecoat School, has already won over judges in an audition and regional final.

The top prize is a recording contract with up to £30,000 worth of investment.
