A CHRISTMAS tree with a difference will again take pride of place at a funeral director’s in Hucknall in a bid to ease the pain of bereaved families during the festive season.
The tree, at Co-operative Funeralcare, has been set up to allow locals to attach to the branches messages or cards in memory of loved ones who have died.
The tree will remain at the business on Portland Road until Christmas Eve (Saturday December 24).
Bev Bullock, of Co-operative Funeralcare, said: “This is the fifth year we have offered a memorial tree. It has always proved to be a great help to bereaved friends and relatives.
“We know that the festive season, in particular, is a time when people look back and remember those they have lost. We hope our memorial Christmas tree will again benefit the families concerned at this difficult time.”
Anyone using the tree can also leave a charity donation if they wish.
Money raised will go to the Basil Sykers Myeloma Foundation — a volunteer-run charity that provides non-medical support to those with multiple myeloma blood cancer.
