A pair of super swimmers from Hucknall raised £300 for Marie Curie Cancer Care with two top times.
Cole Herman (8) swam 5k in this year’s annual Swimathon, completing the 200 lengths in one hour and 39 minutes, and was crowned the best under 9 swimmer in the country.
His sister, six-year-old Ava, also managed to swim 64 lengths in just under one hour and was placed in the top 90 in her age group.
Proud mum Lauren said: “I expected Cole to take two hours - but this really exceeded everything. Nobody at the pool could believe it. He started swimming with Hucknall Dolphins when he was four and is now swimming in relays and is looking forward to racing in galas. He does a lot of sport. I think he wants to become a swimmer and an athlete.
“Ava really loves swimming too and is a really strong swimmer for her age. She is also a gymnast and a dancer, and she enjoys swimming because she likes being in the water.
“Marie Cure is close to everybody’s heart - we all know someone who has suffered.”
