A man was twice caught stealing razor blades which he was planning to sell to buy food.
Aleksander Jargielo (35) of Chatsworth Street, Sutton, was caught on CCTV taking items from Boots on St Peter’s Retail Park on 23rd September.
He was caught by security staff taking the blades from Wilkinson’s on Clumber Street three days later.
The court was told that he had been caught shoplifting in August and was given 60 hours community service.
In mitigation it was heard that he had split up from his partner and was struggling to come to terms with his situation. He had also been made homeless and had lost his job.
He was given a six-month conditional discharge, was told to pay £60 compensation and a £60 victim surcharge.
