An agency worker had to be taken to hospital after he received burns while welding at a Sutton factory on Monday (21st October).
Paramedics were called to B&M Catalysts, in Sheepbridge Lane, at around 10am following the incident.
The man, believed to be a 23-year-old Polish worker, was then taken to Kings Mill Hospital for further treatment.
Staff at the factory contacted Chad to claim that the man was not wearing safety clothing, despite asking supervisors for a safety jacket to be provided.
A spokesman for the company said that safety clothing is optional but available for all workers. He added that the company was now considering making the wearing of safety jackets compulsory.
