TEAMWORK and togetherness, backed by community support, were key ingredients of a successful Christmas fair at St Mary’s Church in Bulwell.
Santa’s grotto was a star attraction as months of preparation paid off to yield a total of £1,400 from the event at the church on Highbury Road.
Bargain-hunters converged on a wide selection of stalls, while youngsters from the Scouts and Guides played their part by running games and competitions.
Santa for the day was Martin Walton, who welcomed excited youngsters as they reeled off their Christmas wishes.
He was ably helped by elves and the good fairy, aka Enya Belfield, Laura Jean Walton and Jade Cole.
Other attractions included stalls selling books, cakes, bric-a-brac and Christmas delights.
There was also a tombola, raffle and toy and jewellery stalls.
Heaping praise on the volunteers behind the fair, the Rev Andy Nicolls said: “Teamwork has once again shone through.”
