Tenner taxi dodge turns into £255 court bill

A Hucknall man’s bid to dodge a £10 taxi fare left him facing court charges of £255.

Edward Charles Sander, 37, of Royce Avenue, admitted atttempting to make off without paying the driver after a journey to Bakersfield on June 25.

Last Friday, Nottinghamshire magistrates discharged him conditionally for 12 months and ordered him to pay compensation of £10, a victim surcharge of £15, costs of £50 to the Crown Prosecution Service and a criminal courts charge of £180.
