Thieves have been targeting Mercedes Sprinter vans in Hucknall in a one-day crime spree.

On Monday 5th January on Laughton Crescent, the exhaust and catalytic converter was stolen from a Mercedes Sprinter whilst the vehicle was parked in a communal parking bay.

On the same day on Lime Tree Road, the catalytic converter was stolen from the same make of van which was parked outside a house.

Later on Chatsworth Drive, men were disturbed while attempting to steal a catalytic converter from a Mercedes Sprinter.

A police spokesperson said: “It would appear that thieves are targeting catalytic converters and in particular from Mercedes Sprinter vehicles. We would urge you to take all the precautions you are able to in protecting your vehicles if fitted with a catalytic converter. Please report to the Police immediately if you see anyone suspicious around or underneath vehicles particularly late at night or in the early hours.”
