ALMOST 3,000 people have viewed CCTV footage released by police in a bid to catch a “brazen” sex-attacker who adbducted an eight-year-old girl in Bulwell.

As reported in last week’s Dispatch, detectives have revived an investigation into the disturbing assault after the case against a 25-year-old man collapsed.

The girl was lured from Commercial Road in the town on Tuesday November 23 and attacked in a secluded area of Pulley Park, off Hoewood Road.

Footage of either four men wearing similar clothing or just one man has now been made public and was shown to shoppers in Bulwell town centre at a special police contact-point at the end of last week.

The clip and a video interview with the victim’s mum can also be seen on YouTube and on the Nottinghamshire police website. The mum also gave amn interview to last week’s Dispatch, saying that, since the attack, her traumatised daughter “is not the girl she used to be”.

Det Supt Adrian Pearson, who is leading the investigation, branded the attacker “brazen” and believed he had local knowledge.

Of the reaction to the CCTV footage, he said: “This is a fantastic response from the public and I would like to thank those who took the time to view the CCTV.

“We have had a number of calls and we are currently in the process of following up the information we received.

“However we still believe there are people out there with information who are yet to speak to police. I would appeal directly to them to please come forward.

“This was a very serious assault on a young girl and it’s imperative that we find who did this.”

The attacker is thought to be in his late teens or early 20s. He led the girl along Abercarn Close, Rock Street and Aldgate Close. The victim described her attacker as white, under 5’9” tall and of medium build. He was wearing a grey hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms. The girl was wearing a black jacket and pink trousers.
