Toddlers learning love of reading with Bookstart

ALMOST all babies and toddlers in Hucknall and the rest of Nottinghamshire are benefitting from the national Bookstart scheme aimed at encouraging a love of reading.

The initiative provides youngsters with a free pack, including books appropriate for their age. The scheme reached 99.4% of babies born in the county last year.

Packs for children aged 18 to 30 months reached 95.5% of eligible toddlers and Bookstart ‘treasure chest packs’ reached 99.8% of all eligible three-year-olds.
