AN INNOVATIVE ‘enterprise club’ has been launched in Hucknall to help budding entrepreneurs buck the economic downturn and launch their own business.
Local Enterprise Organisation (LEO) is behind the scheme, which is designed to encourage local job-seekers to consider self-employment.
The first session was held at Under One Roof on Vine Terrace yesterday (Thursday) and will continue every week.
The initiative will provide a regular meeting place with a series of themed workshops, speakers and opportunities to chat with experts and like-minded people.
“The Enterprise Clubs will be ideal for anyone wanting to learn about running a business,” said Adrian Williamson, who is an LEO enterprise coach based in Hucknall.
“They are also ideal for anyone wondering if self-employment would suit them and their lifestyle.”
If the Hucknall venture is a success, others could be rolled out in Ashfield, Bolsover and Mansfield.
Added Adrian: “I’d urge anyone who feels they have more to offer than the jobs currently available to consider, with us, whether or not they could work for themselves.”
