TravelRight is a charity promoting sustainable travel in Nottingham and it has just launched new free walking and cycling guides for across the region.
There is a guide for Bulwell
and Basford which gives ‘a unique insight into the history of this part of
The ‘Smoke in the Valley’ guide not only includes a map with a walking and cycling route but also features historical places of interest along the way with information relating to their significance.
A similar guide has also been launched for Top Valley, Bestwood and Rise Park in a similar format called ‘king Coal’.
This takes travellers on a journey through Bestwood Country Park and the Emmanuel Church as well as the mining history of the region.
