ARTIST Bill Scott has dusted off some paintings he completed more than 20 years ago to showcase them as part of an exhibition at Hucknall Library.
The 66-year-old, of Nottingham Road, Hucknall, has 17 pieces on display and the show will run untilSaturday February 18.
All the artworks are oil on canvas and cover a range of subjects from landscapes to country scenes, pet portraits he has been commissioned to undertake and even some modern art. All are available to buy.
Bill, who is a great grandfather, is mostly self-taught but did take a few lessons to nail down specific techniques.
He said: “It’s true what they say, you can teach someone to paint but you can’t make them an artist.
“Some of the paintings are pretty old and have been on display in the house but some are relatively new.”
Bill has been painting for more than 20 years and his work was shown in two exhibitions in the library on Market Place 15 years ago.
A former lorry driver, Bill is now retired and has been married to wife Jackie for 45 years. They have a son, a duaghter, two granddaughters and a great grandson.
