A march that aims to highlight a campaign against what some are calling the part-privatisation of the NHS came through Hucknall and Bulwell yesterday.
The march is led by the Darlomums, a group of mums who say they are “concerned and outraged at the assault by government on our most prized possession, the National Health Service”.
They say the NHS is being “ dismantled and undermined” and have undertaken to walk 300 miles through 23 towns and cities all the way to the House of Commons in London.
Léonie Mathers, Labour’s Candidate for the Sherwood constituency, joined the march.
Miss Mathers said: “I stood side by side with protestors as they marched through Newstead and Hucknall in a fight for the NHS.”
