IT WAS canine capers all round as prized pooches competed in a novelty dog show.
The event was organised by The Midland Counties GSD and All Breeds Training Club and took place off the A611 bypass between Hucknall and Annesley last Sunday, together with a German Shepherd rally.
Money raised was in aid of Hounds For Heroes, a charity supporting dogs in the armed forces, and German Shepherd Welfare.
Joint club secretary, Sarah Pykett, said the day was a big success.
“It was the first time we have ever run this type of show and we were very pleased with how the day went,” she added.
“Hopefully it will become an annual event and go from strength to strength.”
The novelty show attracted breeds from collies to terriers and huskies to greyhounds. A Tibetan terrier and its owner won the six legged category, while best puppy was a German shepherd and waggiest tail winner was a Jack Russell.
Sarah added: “Everybody had fun and we managed to encourage a few more entrants into the ring to compete on the day.”
