PARENTS are being urged to steer clear of giving their babies novelty dummies like this one — amid safety fears.

Trading standards officers from Notts County Council have received complaints about a Nottinghamshire seller who is offering so-called ‘bling dummies’ through Facebook.

Glued on are diamante and rubber pictures of characters such as Superman and Minnie Mouse, while strings of beads are also attached.

Mark Hughes, trading standards manager at the county council, said: “We have been sent some of the dummies by parents who are rightly concerned about beads and crystals dropping off and choking their babies.

“I would urge anyone who has bought this type of dummy to stop using them immediately.”

Anyone with concerns should ring Consumer Direct on 08454 040506.”
