A 42-YEAR-old woman, who is understood to have strong ties to Hucknall, has been killed in a crash after a car hit a tree.

Vicki Margaret Dorman was travelling in the Subaru Impreza car, which left the B6016 Langton Hollow road at Selston.

The accident happened at 9 pm on Saturday September 24.

Ms Dorman is believed to have previously lived in Hucknall and still has family in the town. Her father, Terry, is understood to run the Manor Baits maggot farm, off Whyburn Lane.

Tributes to her have been posted on the social-networking site, Facebook.

Police officers investigating the tragic crash have revealed that Ms Dorman, who lived at Underwood, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 35-year-old man was also in the Subaru but officers say it is unclear who was driving and who was the passenger.

Both were thrown from the vehicle.

The man, who has not been named, was taken to King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton-in-Ashfield for treatment to serious head and arm injuries.

He was later transferred to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham and is reported to be in a stable condition.

Police believe that the Subaru was travelling from Selston towards Jacksdale in convoy with another car.

Investigating officers have launched an appeal for those who were in the second vehicle to come forward because they may be able to help detectives piece together what happened.

Det Sgt James Greely, of the police’s crash investigation unit, said: “We are trying to trace the occupants of the second car.

“The occupants of this vehicle may have crucial information about the circumstances surrounding this crash.

“We would like to speak to them about the crash and would ask them to contact detectives.”

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information is asked to call the police crash investigation unit on 0300 3009999 (extension 800 2227) or ring the free and confidential Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555111.

An inquest into Ms Dorman’s death was opened and adjourned at Nottingham Coroner’s Court on Wednesday.
