Hucknall’s John Godber Centre will welcome volunteers on Sunday to start the refurbishment programme.

Thanks to a grant from WREN and fundraising at the Ogle Street centre, work will now get underway and is expected to be completed byFriday 23rd August.

The refurbishment will include removal of the studded walls between rooms 3 and 4 and the installation of a retractable sound-proofed partition to allow the room to be used as two separate rooms or one larger room.

The existing carpet/laminate floors will be removed and replaced with a professional dance floor throughout the two rooms.

The large single glazed wooden framed windows will be replaced with double glazed UPVC windows andnew environmentally friendly lighting will be installed with soundproof ceiling to limit noise from/to the main hall. New storage, redecoration and new toilets are also on the way.
