Biggest complaint in town is about house-building

RECENTLY Coun Keir Morrison (Lab), a Hucknall member of Labour-controlled Ashfield District Council, openly said that he was ‘proud’ that the council was planning to build new council houses.

He goes on to say that the country has a huge shortage of houses.

He has obviously forgotten that it was a succession of Labour governments under Blair and Brown that opened the floodgates to immigration.

In my opinion this is why we find ourselves in this situation now.

The biggest complaint residents of Hucknall have now is about the amount of houses being built in the town.

It shows how out of touch he is and what a complete farce our council is now.

Also, recently, the council praised itself for awarding wage increases to lower-paid staff.

I believe they are cutting services to save money.
