WE would like to thank everyone at Hucknall Mixed Darts League for the donation of food for stray and abandoned dogs here at Babbington Rescue in Awsworth.
Everything we receive is very much appreciated and worthy of acknowledgment.
The rescue is now dealing with nearly 1,300 dogs per year. This is more than 1.1% of the total lost and abandoned dogs in the UK and makes us the largest independently-financed dog-rescue in the UK. If not the only.
It is good to know that people like the mixed darts league recognise the work we do with abandoned dogs.
Every penny or item of donation helps because we have to raise all our own finance to cover the approximate £523 per day it takes to keep the rescue going.
It is our intention to replace our main block, starting as soon as funds are in place, at an estimated cost of £95,000, which is a lot to find. We have approximately £29,000 still to go.
We completed a hospital-block conversion for seven dogs in the spring of 2011 at a cost of £11,500, and we are carrying out some internal-block work through this winter.
