Have your say

MAY I, through the ‘Your Opinions’ page, say thank you to all of the attendees at the unveiling of the Eric Coates heritage plaque at Tenter Hill, Duke Street, Hucknall, on Saturday August 27.

This commemorated the 125th anniversary of the birth of Hucknall-born composer Coates. A member of the Eric Coates Society came up from Bidford-on-Avon, Warwickshire, for the event.

Harry Smith opened the proceedings and his wife, Ann, unveiled the plaque.

Everyone enjoyed the refreshments provided and were able to sit in the garden and for this we are extremely grateful to Brian and Debbie Connor for their generous hospitality.

They provided a cake, on the top of which was a picture of Coates.

GEOFF SHELDON.

Chairman,

Eric Coates Society.
