Long-serving teacher has earned legendary status

Have your say

I’d just like to add my own little tribute to teacher Sue Day, who retired recently from Hillside Primary School in Hucknall (Last week’s Dispatch: ‘End Of An Era For ‘Phenomenal’ Teacher’).

Mrs Day taught me at the former Spring Street Primary School in Hucknall and always made lessons thoroughly enjoyable.

I was also taught by her husband, Paul, at Holgate Comprehensive School in Hucknall and both are excellent teachers.

The amount of years Mrs Day’s career has spanned in Hucknall’s schools is phenomenal.

Due to the massive contribution she has made to so many people’s education in Hucknall and beyond, she has earned herself legendary status.

I wish Sue a very happy retirement and I would like to thank her for the memories.
