Solar panels can ruin the look of homes

AM I the only person in Hucknall who thinks there should be some planning laws or consultation relating to the placement of roof-mounted solar-panels?

The reason I bring this up is that I have just returned from Tesco in Hucknall to be greeted at the Station Road roundabout by a beautiful 1930s’ detached house RUINED by a bank of panels attached to a traditional slate roof.

It has almost spoiled the WHOLE look of Thoresby Dale and draws your attention away from the wonderful mining statue on Station Road.

I am not anti-renewable energy, and I think we will see a lot more of these over the coming years. But people, please think about the aesthetics of your property and the impact for other people living in your town, and look at all sites that are south-facing before you jump in with your decision to go solar.
