While there are idiots there will always be deaths on the roads

Have your say

THE GOVERNMENT seems like it won’t rest until nobody ever dies (last week’s Dispatch, ‘Have Your Say On Life-Saving 20mph Zones’).

While that’s a pleasant thought, the way of doing it isn’t to lower speed limits (that just means no-one gets anywhere), it’s to teach the Green Cross Code and make sure idiots and drunks can’t drive.

If people looked before crossing the road, and drivers were sensible, there would be fewer deaths. There will never be zero deaths. Because sadly, there will always be idiots.
