A DEBUT goal by new signing Rob McCormick helped Hucknall Town to a 2-0 win over struggling Whitby Town in their latest Unibond League, Premier Division game.
The Yellows' clash at home to Whitby on Saturday (October 3) was heading for stalemate when defender McCormick struck on the hour, sidefooting home after a corner by Laurie Wilson.

In front of a crowd of 237 at windy Watnall Road, the points were sealed by a goal from Reuben Wiggins-Thomas four minutes from the end. Wiggins-Thomas slotted home after a searing run by recalled utility-player Kevin Spriggs.

Hucknall were well worth their victory and created several other chances. It lifted them to ninth in the table, only five points behind the new leaders, Ashton United.

Their next match is at home to Stocksbridge Park Steels this coming Tuesday (kick-off 7.45 pm).
