On an incredible last night of the season, Central Club were crowned HUCKNALL WINTER DOMINOES LEAGUE champions, even though they lost!

The night began with three teams chasing title glory. And leaders Central thought they had blown it when suffering a shock 3-2 defeat to Station PH. But second-placed George Street were also beaten -- 3-2 at Royal British Legion -- and although third-placed Shamrock won at Empire Club, it was only by the narrowest of margins (3-2).

It meant all three finished on the same number of points. But Central were the champs because their leg-difference of plus-12 was marginally better than that of Shamrock (plus-ten and George Street (plus-eight).

At the bottom, the wooden-spoon was also decided on leg-difference with Station’s run of four wins in five matches lifting them above Sherwood Ranger.
