Barring a miraculous turnaround in fortunes, reigning champions Abu Dhabi look certain to retain their title in the HUCKNALL MONDAY NIGHT SIX-A-SIDE LEAGUE at The National Academy.

There are still three rounds of fixtures to play, but Abu Dhabi maintained their four-point lead at the top by marching to a 2-1 victory over fellow high-fliers, Team 316. It completed a clean sweep of ten wins out ten since they lost on the opening night of the campaign.

The only team who can catch Abu Dhabi are Warriors, whom they are due to play on the last day of the season. Warriors’ latest match resulted in a 4-2 win over Baywatch Babes.

Meanwhile, at the bottom of the table, relieved Heaton Sports celebrated their first win of the campaign by defeating Jurassic Pork 4-3.

It lifted them a point above the new favourites for the wooden spoon, K.F.C., who found a 5-0 reverse against The Groomsmen anything but finger lickin’ good! They have now leaked 52 goals for a goal-difference of minus-30.
